Some time ago whilst browsing on the
internet I happened upon this book written
by Brian Tracy. I have read many of Brian's
sales books over the years however the
intriguing title of this publication caught
my eye. I placed my order with
Amazon.com and about ten days later it
arrived on our door step. Upon opening
I couldn't put it down which is really
unusual for me as most books take me months
to finish.
Within a few days I had devoured every page
and my conclusion was: "what a
great little book" jam packed with
so many gems relating to time management
and productivity.

It's an easy read as it's relatively
short (128 pages in total).
Completing
your most important daily
task,
is
likened to the eating of your daily
frog.
Brief
excerpt from "Eat That
Frog"
An average person who develops the habits
of setting clear priorities will run
circles around a genius who talks a lot and
makes wonderful plans, but gets very little
done.
Your "frog" is your biggest, most important
task, the one your are most likely to
procrastinate on if you don't do something
about it now. It is also the one task that
can have the greatest impact on your life
and results at the moment. It has also been
said, "if you have
to eat two frogs, eat the ugliest one
first".
This is another way of saying that if you
have two important tasks before you, start
with the biggest, hardest, and the most
important task first. Discipline yourself
to begin immediately and then persist until
the task is complete before you go on to
something else.
Resist the temptation to start with
the easier task. Continually
remind yourself that one of the most
important decisions you make each day is
your choice of what you will do immediately
and what you will do later. If you do it at
all.
This book shows you how to line up
your frogs, regardless of how ugly they are
and when to deal with
them.
When you are setting your goals include
that you will read a good sales book every
month. Not only will you learn and earn
more you will become a better
salesperson. Additionally you will build up
a valuable reference library.
